Single Harvest Tawny 2003

Porto

Single Harvest Tawny 2003

This Single Harvest Tawny is from the 1950 harvest. This port wine is a very special wine since we have bottled to commemorate the 70th birthday of our mother in 2020.
It is a fantastic example of aged tawny port. The year of 1950 was characterized by a harsh winter and a rainy summer. Due to these conditions the harvest was delayed but proceeded under perfect conditions.

Vinification

This wine fermented in old stone Lagares. After fortification with grape brandy, the wine aged in one big and other small casks.

Tasting Notes

Beautiful brown colour with a brown rim and a touch of green - characteristics of an old Tawny Port. On the nose, a wine from another era, but very much alive. This wine proves to be of exceptional quality, with high aromatic complexity, concentration, balance and a long finish.
